Automatic Pool Water Level Control

How Automatic Pool Water Level Machines Work

First, let’s not confuse a pool water leveler with a pool filler. A pool filler just fills, it doesn’t drain. On the other hand, a water leveler both fills and drains to maintain a precise water level during both dry spells and rainy spells.

So, more complex than a filler, a levelling machine has a sensor that detects the water level. If the water level is too low, the device fills the swimming pool. If the water level gets too high, after (or during) a thunderstorm, the device discharges water. Some devices have remote sensors, so the device itself is hidden away with the pool equipment, out of sight.

Water level controllers are far more automated than pool fillers, and are capable of greater precision. As such, they can carry a heavy price tag. Brock Enterprises makes a popular model for about $1600.
